Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Aluminium Welder with experience in MIG and TIG welding to join our South Brisbane team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel components for a variety of residential and commercial projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, precise work in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and safety standards. Physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively are essential for success in this role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Fabricate aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel components using MIG and TIG welding techniques.

Prepare materials through cutting, grinding, and cleaning to ensure proper welding readiness.

Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines, ensuring equipment is safe and fully functional.

Inspect welds for quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to engineering specifications.

Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and project plans to determine correct materials and sequences.

Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.

Collaborate with fellow welders, fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time.

Follow all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and guidelines.

Safely handle, transport, and store materials and finished products.

Troubleshoot issues related to welding or material preparation, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Trade Certificate in Welding or a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on welding experience.

Proven experience in fabricating custom components, products, and structures beyond production welding.

Strong knowledge of aluminium properties, MIG and TIG welding techniques, and safety requirements.

Sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety regulations.

Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and handle repetitive tasks.

Ability to supply and maintain own commercial-grade tools (tool allowance included).

Own vehicle and valid driver’s license (manual preferred) to travel to worksites.

Attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
